How to disable Bing suggestions in the Windows 11 Start menu [Complete Guide]
The Windows 11 default search tool built into Start is very useful when it comes to finding installed files and software. However, the search utility also displays Bing's web suggestions every time you enter a keyword, making the whole process very annoying, so much so that many people may want to delete all of Bing's suggestions together.
If you feel the same way and want to disable Bing suggestions in the Windows 11 Start menu, you can do so by following the steps listed below:
- Go to Start option and Search for Registry, then open the first search result
- Inside Registry Editor navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
- Once created, select the new Explorer folder and right-click on the empty area located in the right pane. Then, select New> DWORD (32-bit).
- Name the new DWORD: DisableSearchBoxSuggestions.
- Now double click on the new DWORD and change its value which is 0 to 1, then click OK.
- Now reboot your system and then check if Bing search is now disabled.
This is pretty much how you too can disable Bing's annoying tips in the Start menu of your Windows 11 PC.
Alternatively, in case you want to restore default settings and re-enable Bing's suggestions, you can do so by simply deleting the Explorer key we had created in the third step followed by a reboot.
